Twisted Jazz
I do apologise that no photograph is available. The name Twisted Jazz came from
the fact that we like to play recognisable old and new jazz standards and some original
compositions, but with our very own twist. You may hear a flamenco influence, some
ragtime, solid blues and even a hint of folk within the improvisations. The striking
sound of electro-acoustic bass and classical guitar, melded with subtle saxophone
and flute is not to be missed.
What a treat was in store on the Sunday when Ye Hostelrie Hotel was transformed
into a crowded jazz club for a long lunch-time session. Twisted Jazz, surely one
of the best jazz combos in the area, delighted the most appreciative and enthusiastic
audience with their own brand of improvised music (Ross Gazette 2008)
Twisted Jazz usually comprises:
- Simon Tolley – saxaphone and flute
- Andy Herbert – bass
- Tom Richardson – guitar
- Charlotte Hill – vocals
Keyboards and drums can also be included if required
