Wednesday 7th December Goodrich Music successfully presented an amazing concert featuring Paul Jones and Dave Kelly, supported by local band Trilemma, in Goodrich Village Hall. Paul Jones will be known to many as a previous lead singer with Manfred Mann, a star of hit musicals and presenter of the weekly Radio 2 Blues Programme.

Dave Kelly is possibly the greatest blues guitarist in the UK. Together, they have worked with the internationally acclaimed Blues Band for more than twenty years. Goodrich rang to an evening of acoustic blues of the highest quality. Paul Jones’ solo singing, with his own harmonica accompaniment, left the audience breathless and in total admiration of his virtuosity and skill. Dave Kelly’s slide guitar playing was astonishing in tone and quality. Together, they played and sang the night away, finishing the evening with encores and a standing ovation.

The evening began with a set from Trilemma, featuring original songs with acoustic arrangements from their forthcoming album, ‘Listen’. After the interval, Paul Jones and Dave Kelly were introduced and played wonderful music including long-established blues favourites as well as original songs written by themselves. This continued into a second set, after another interval, with each song interspersed with interesting dialogue about the blues and the numbers to be performed.
