"GOODRICH PLAYS THE BLUES" "Hit it !!!"

As a tribute to the 25th anniversary of the Blues Brothers film - this conert was a sell out success and helped to provide funds for the next Goodrich music offering of Georgie Fame and sons in Dec 2006

On Saturday 29th April Goodrich Village Hall was transformed into ‘The Palace Hotel Ballroom’ featuring, for one night only, the fabulous Blues Brothers and Soul Sister band. The event was sold-out well in advance and the evening began with the Ross Jive Dance Club leading a workshop to brush up the audiences dancing skills. The nine-piece band of talented local musicians then took to the stage and played three wonderfully performed sets, with the audience clamouring for encore after encore. Enthusiastic and energetic dancing accompanied classic songs such as: Everybody Needs Somebody, Gimme some Lovin’; Shake a Tail Feather; and Jailhouse Rock. Audience participation gave ‘Minnie the Moocher’ the same timeless feel as when sung by Cab Calloway in the Blues Brothers movie.

There was soul, rhythm & blues and even a Country and Western song echoing long into the night. It was close to midnight before the audience finally left for home, weary, happy and still singing the songs as they departed.hey departed.
